Colonel Allensworth Run Walk for Health (15th Anniversary) & Rededication Ceremony

Please consider joining the 15th Annual Colonel Allensworth 5k Run Walk for health at The Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park. The 5k will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. followed by an annual Rededication Ceremony that includes docents, dancing and great food options. All proceeds from the 5k go towards Colonel Allensworth State Park. Registration is now open and is $20 for adults and $7 for children. Registration includes a t-shirt. Register today by visiting http://www.allensworth5krunwalk.org/. Bring your family or carpool with Friends. Enjoy learning about California and black history while getting some exercise in. We will have a table at this event selling The Adventures of Bubblegum Bobby, t-shirts and backpacks.

In August 1908 Colonel Allen Allensworth and four other settlers established a town founded, financed and governed by African Americans. In 1974 California State Parks purchased land within the historical town site of Allensworth and it became Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park.
